Dear Supporters, Donors, and Recipients,
We want to express our heartfelt gratitude for your unwavering support of Adopt A Book. When we started this non-profit at the age of eight, our passion for reading and desire to help other children have access to books sparked a mission that has impacted countless lives.
When we first launched Adopt A Book in 2011, we quickly realized that there were limited options for receiving book donations and providing essential resources for children’s literacy learning in homes and classrooms. Since that time, we have donated over 255,000 new and gently used children’s books to hundreds of organizations serving children in need.
We have also established reading spaces in community centers and healthcare waiting rooms, sponsored a Little Free Library along the historic Loveland Bike Trail, and partnered with local students, authors, schools, and businesses for book drives and fundraisers. And in 2023, we had the privilege of partnering with the Queen City Book Bank to award the first scholarship “Adopt A Book/Adopt A Future” Award, which is a testament to our shared commitment to promoting literacy and empowering children through access to books.
We are thrilled to announce a new chapter in our journey and our continued partnership with the Queen City Book Bank. Thanks to your overwhelming generosity, the collection and distribution of books have outgrown our capabilities. Fortunately, the Queen City Book Bank has the facilities, infrastructure, and reach to ensure that even more children have access to the books they need to foster a love of reading and learning. Together, we can expand our impact and make a meaningful difference in the lives of young readers. Requests to donate gently used children’s books as well as requests for children’s books can be made to Shymain Walker at shymain@queencitybookbank.org.
And thanks to your incredible support, we are now able to turn your financial contributions into a new book while supporting local independent bookstores, making it easier than ever to get books into the hands of children in need.
As we look to the future, we hope to continue our mission of getting books into the right hands. We can receive your taxable donation via Venmo @adoptabookohio and Paypal adoptabookohio.org/donations. We are grateful for your continued support and look forward to the next generation of Adopt A Book.

Make a Financial Contribution to Adopt A Book
Donate to Adopt A Book, and we purchase new books for those in need. Adopt A Book purchases books wholesale through locally-owned, independent bookstores, while supporting our local bookshops in the process.
Through this model, Adopt A Book can order the exact books its recipients need – whether its specific titles, reading levels, or languages. -
Donate Physical Books to Queen City Books
We’ve outgrown our own facilities and infrastructure, so we’re proud to partner with Queen City Books for this service. If you’re interested in donating gently used books, please contact Queen City Books.
Mission Statement
Adopt A Book is a non-profit organization dedicated to providing at-risk kids with books of their own.
Vision Statement
Adopt A Book is to foster literacy and a love of reading by distributing books to disadvantaged children.
Adopt A Book is a 501(c)3 non-profit
These two book-loving twins, Hannah and Alexander were inspired to start Adopt A Book in November 2011, when they were just 8 years old after they heard about kids in the Greater Cincinnati area who didn’t own books of their own. To date, they have donated over 255,000 books to over hundreds of organizations, schools and programs serving children in need.
Many of the kids that have received their books have never been to a library, don’t have access to a library or have ever owned a book of their own.

Jennifer Bradley,
“Thank you again for your most generous contribution of close to 400 books to our residential programs. These will go a very long way toward helping our clients in their personal recovery and growth. We truly appreciate this and your past contributions.”
